excellent resource for on-line teaching and for out of class
assignments.

The website to accompany the documentary. An excellent resource on
social class even if students do not watch the video.

An excellent exercise developed by Dr. Tracy Ore to learn about economic
inequality and life chances. Best used as a group
activity.

A fun read from a 1950's women's magazine about gender roles and
families. This also appears in an ASA teaching guide, which
suggests students
write a modern day script.

The Pill (PBS): An excellent video showcasing the history of the birth
control pill. Good for gender, sexuality, and family courses.
Stolen Childhoods: A great video to discuss child labor, globalization,
human rights, and related issues.
Let's Get Married (PBS): A video that discusses the marriage movement,
divorce, and related issues. Great for family classes when discussing reasons
for getting married.
People Like Us (PBS): Use for discussions of social class in the
US.
Race the Power of an Illusion (PBS): A three part series
discussing race issues. Great for historical overview of slavery, redlining,
and related issues.
